Analysis & Observations on Engraving 3.175mm Clear Acrylic

Optimal Engraving Settings:

The best engraving results were observed with power levels between 40%-60% and speeds ranging from 150–300 mm/s. These settings produced clear, consistent engravings with minimal frosting, making them ideal for detailed and high-quality acrylic designs.

Excessive Frosting and Melting:

Higher power levels (70%-100%) and slower speeds (50–150 mm/s) led to excessive frosting and even minor melting, which resulted in uneven and less-defined engravings. These settings are not ideal for precision work.

Faint Engravings:

At lower power levels (20%-30%) and higher speeds (350+ mm/s), the engravings were too faint and lacked clarity, making these settings unsuitable for detailed designs but potentially useful for subtle marking.

Air Assist Impact:

The use of 5 PSI air assist helped maintain clarity by reducing debris and preventing overheating during the engraving process.

Line Interval and DPI:

The 0.1 mm line interval and 254 DPI setting ensured sharp and consistent engravings, highlighting the Monport Onyx’s precision capabilities for acrylic materials.
