Analysis & Observations on Engraving 0.75 mm Silicone
Optimal Engravings:
The best engravings were achieved at 50%–70% power and 250–350 mm/s speed, producing crisp and clear markings. These settings delivered excellent visibility and consistency, making them ideal for detailed designs on 0.75 mm silicone.
Overburn & Distortion:
Higher power levels (90%–100%) at slower speeds (50–100 mm/s) caused excessive melting and warping, leading to distorted engravings. These settings should be avoided to preserve the material’s integrity and achieve clean results.
Light or Inconsistent Engravings:
Lower power settings (20%–40%) combined with faster speeds (300 mm/s and above) resulted in faint and uneven engravings. These settings are unsuitable for creating visible or detailed designs but could work for light etching or subtle markings.
Air Assist Impact:
Using air assist at 5 PSI helped prevent material scorching and ensured cleaner results by removing residue during engraving. It also improved the sharpness of edges across the grid.
Line Interval and DPI:
The 0.1 mm line interval and 254 DPI settings offered excellent precision and uniformity, creating consistent results while minimizing over-marking or material wear.
Recommended Settings for 0.75 mm Silicone:
- Power: 50%–70%
- Speed: 250–350 mm/s
- DPI: 254
- Line Interval: 0.1 mm
- Air Assist: 5 PSI
- Frequency: 20 kHz
These parameters ensure high-quality engravings with minimal distortion, making them perfect for intricate designs and professional results on thin silicone sheets.
